Generate a Flight Report

Pick flights from the Flight Log, choose acres or hectares, and download a PDF ready to share.

Flight reports are the deliverable for most service operations and the proof of work for most farmers. This tutorial walks through generating one in under a minute.

What you'll need

  • At least one Completed flight on a drone you have access to.
  • About 30 seconds.

The walkthrough

  1. Open the drone

    From My Drones, click the drone whose flights you want to report.

  2. Open the Flight Log tab

    Click the Flight Log tab on the drone detail page.

  3. Pick the date range

    Use the Start date and End date filters.

    Constraints:

    • End date must be on or after Start date — otherwise "Start date cannot be after end date."
    • The range can't exceed 92 days (~3 months) — otherwise "Range cannot exceed 92 days (approximately 3 months)."

    For longer reports, generate them in monthly batches.

  4. Select the flights

    Check the box next to each flight you want included.

    • To grab everything visible, use the Select all visible flights header checkbox.
    • You can mix and match flights from different days within the date range.

  5. Generate the report

    Click Generate report.

    If nothing is selected you'll get:

    Select at least one flight — Check the records you want to include in the report and try again.

  6. Pick the unit

    The unit selector appears:

    • Hectares (metric) — area in ha; volumes in L (spraying) or kg (seeding); swath in m.
    • Acres (imperial) — area in ac; volumes in gal (spraying) or lb (seeding); swath in ft.

    Pick the one your customer expects. The portal converts on the fly.

  7. Wait for the PDF

    The PDF renders client-side. You'll see "Generating PDF…" briefly, then the Download report action enables.

    If rendering fails: "Failed to generate PDF. Please try again." Retry once; if it fails again, contact support.

  8. Download and share

    Click Download report. The PDF saves with the filename pattern:

    flight-report-<chassis-serial>-<YYYYMMDD-YYYYMMDD>.pdf

    Share with your customer however you'd like — email, dropbox, etc. The PDF is self-contained.

What's in the report

  • Cover with drone serial ("Chassis {serial}") and issue date.
  • Per-flight section for each selected flight:
    • Flight route map (start ◯ end ●).
    • Time range: "Start: {begin} - End: {end}".
    • Stats:
      • Flight time
      • Speed (avg / max)
      • Altitude (avg / max)
      • Battery consumed
      • Applied area
      • Applied volume (or seeding)
      • Efficiency (gal/ac, L/ha, lb/ac, kg/ha)
      • Swath width
  • Overall KPI page with total area, applied volume, application rate.

Switching the unit later

You can regenerate the same report with the other unit any time. There's no upload, no API quota — just re-select the flights and pick the other unit.
