Run a Diagnostic Checklist

Complete the pre-service-order receiving checklist and capture the right evidence.

Service technician

The Diagnostic Checklist (portal label: Receiving phase on a Service Order) is your intake gate. Skipping it causes diagnostic gaps and OEM warranty rejections. This tutorial takes about six minutes in the portal before wrench time.

What you'll need

  • The physical drone on the bench (or a clear photo set if remote intake).
  • An active Receiving template under Support → Checklist Templates.

The walkthrough

  1. Open the service context

From Support → Tickets, open the customer's ticket and confirm the Drone serial. Click Create service order if none exists, or open the linked order under Service Orders. Navigate to the Checklist tab.

  2. Apply a receiving template

If you see No checklist applied, click Apply Template. Choose a Receiving template and click Apply. Toast: The checklist items were generated successfully. Progress shows {completed}/{total} verified.

  3. Work category by category

Expand groups (Frame, Propulsion, Battery, Electronics, Software, Spraying system). For each row, click Edit checklist item to open Update inspection.

  4. Set status and notes

Choose OK, Issue Found, or N/A. In Notes, record measurable facts: error codes, corrosion location, impact marks, pump leak rate. Issue Found rows should mirror what you will type in Diagnosis verdict later.

  5. Capture required photos

Where the template shows Photo required, use Add photos (PNG, JPEG, WebP, or HEIC, max 10 MB). Minimum set for warranty-grade intake:

    • Overall airframe damage (four corners if impacted).
    • Failed item close-up with legible label or serial.
    • Controller or app screen showing firmware and fault codes.
    • Spray system wet side if leakage is reported.
  6. Cross-check firmware

Open the linked Drone from the order header. On Overview, compare Firmware Version to OEM baseline before marking Software items OK.

  7. Save diagnosis and advance status

When Receiving is complete, open Actions → Diagnosis, enter Diagnosis verdict, and click Save diagnosis. Set Next status to Diagnosing, then Update Status. The ticket timeline logs Receiving checklist completed with OK and issue counts.

What to capture (quick reference)

CategoryCapture if…
PropulsionMotor/ESC errors, vibration, burnt smell
BatterySwollen pack, uneven cell voltage, connector heat
SoftwareFirmware mismatch, failed sync, GPS drift
Spraying systemClog, seal leak, flow sensor faults

How results feed the repair

  1. Issue Found rows focus the repair on confirmed faults.
  2. Diagnosis verdict justifies Warranty vs Billable classification.
  3. Photos and timestamps defend later Warranty Claim batches.
  4. Waiting Parts status on the order signals the job is blocked until it can resume.
