Onboard a New Customer
Link a customer farm account to your dealership, assign drones, and set the technician contact for support routing.
Use this walkthrough when a new farm or operator signs with your dealership and needs portal access, drone visibility, and a named technician for Support routing. Plan about five to eight minutes end to end.
What you'll need
- The customer's legal business name and primary contact email.
- Serial numbers for every drone you are placing under your service scope.
- The Technician (or backup technician) who will own their tickets.
Before you start
Confirm the customer account already exists in GTRV Customer or that GTEEX Revolution has provisioned it. Your job in the dealer portal is to link that account to your dealership — not to create the farm's fields or prescriptions.
The walkthrough
Open customer linking
From the sidebar, go to Drones or Network (depending on your tier) and open Link customer account (or Customer accounts → Link account). The drawer title is Link customer to dealership.
Search the customer account
Enter the customer's Account name or sign-in email. Select the correct row — verify the state and primary contact match what the customer gave you on paper.
Confirm the service relationship
Review the summary: your dealership name, tier (Distributor, Reseller, or Sub-dealer), and the customer's account id. Click Link account. Success toast: Customer linked successfully.
Assign drones to your dealership
Open Drones → Assign (or from the linked customer card, Manage drones). For each serial:
- Search by Serial number or scan the QR on the airframe label.
- Confirm Model and Block Status — resolve Blocked units before handoff (see Drone Detail).
- Click Assign to dealership.
Set the default technician contact
Open Settings → Customer contacts (or the customer row → Edit routing). Set Primary technician to the shop lead who owns RMA for this account. Optionally set Backup technician for PTO coverage.
Verify support routing
Open Support → Tickets → New Ticket (test mode) or ask the customer to file a low-priority test ticket. Confirm the Technician dropdown pre-selects your primary contact and that the ticket's Drone list only shows assigned serials.
Send the customer their next steps
Share the GTRV Customer sign-in URL, their account name, and who to call for Urgent issues. Point them to Getting Started for Farmers if they are new to the customer portal.
After onboarding
- Add the customer's drones to your internal ERP or CRM if you mirror stock outside GTRV.
- Schedule a first Receiving checklist when hardware arrives for service — see Run Diagnostic Checklist.
- Review Territory and network if you operate multiple tiers under one login.
